Here you can read about what applies to registration, re-registration, and re-examination for courses offered at the Department of Computing Science. If you have any questions, please contact the Student Office.
Registration
To read the courses you are admitted to, you must register. At the Department of Computing Science, web registration is applied to all courses. Registration is open the week before the course starts. To register for the course, log in via Ladok for students with your Umu-id.
If you want to participate again in both teaching and examination on a course that you have not yet passed, you must re-register. Re-registration gives you the right to participate in all teaching (lectures, lessons, tutoring, etc.) on the course and can also entitle you to study aid from CSN. You apply for re-registration for courses offered by the Department of Computing Science via a web form.
The application period opens a few months before the start of the course and is open for one week. When the application period opens, a reminder is sent to your CS email via the student@cs.umu.se list.
Applications for re-registration are granted subject to availability. The department processes applications in order when the reserve admission has been completed. You will receive a message via email from the department no later than the start of the course. If your application is rejected, you will be offered to participate in re-examination without re-registration (see below).
Re-examination without re-registration
A course normally has three examination opportunities (ordinary exam, re-exam, and catch-up exam) during a period of 12 months from the start of the course. You have the right to continued re-examination on a course you have previously been registered for, even if you have not applied for or been granted re-registration. However, to participate in re-examination without re-registration, you must apply for this via a web form.
All applications for re-examination without re-registration that are received on time are granted. Information on how the re-examination is conducted will be sent to your CS email in connection with the course start. If you want to re-examine a course that is no longer offered, please contact the Student Office.
