If you are enrolled in a programme, you will take a number of courses pre-chosen for the programme. Courses are selected in one of two ways:
- The department responsible makes a so-called group application for the required courses your class will study next semester.
- You can choose among the elective courses available for the programme.
Your department will provide you with the information you need before the closing date for applications.
If you are taking required courses ("group application")
Log in on Unviersityadmissions.se via Umeå University using your UMU ID and check to see that the courses you are going to study can be found in your application. Remember that the total number of credits does not need to be 30 ECTS (HE credits). You may be continuing on courses that you registered for in the previous semester that are taught for longer periods than one term. The courses that should be in your application are only those starting the upcoming term. If the wrong course or courses appear in your application, or if you do not have an application for the next semester, you must contact your programme or study counsellor.
Remember that if you want to study an extra course, you can take this opportunity now and give it priority along with your programme courses. You can be accepted to a maximum of 45 ECTS (HE credits) per semester.
If you are going to make your own choice of study programme courses
Log in on Universityadmissions.se via Umeå University using your UMU ID. This is required in order for programme students to see courses available to apply for within the study programme. If you do not see the courses, you must contact your programme or study counsellor for more information.
Remember that if you want to study an extra course, you can take this opportunity now and give it priority along with your programme courses. You can be accepted to a maximum of 45 ECTS (HE credits) per semester.
Instructions for applying for programme courses
Accepting an offer in the online notification
Do not forget to reply to an offer in the online notification you receive in the middle of July and in the middle of December. The computer system does not automatically register an acceptance and if you do not give a "Yes" answer, you will not be admitted to the course. This also applies to those included in a group application. If this happens, you must contact your programme study counsellor and ask if you can still be admitted to the course. The Notification of selection status is sent via email or regular mail depending on the means of communication that is indicated in your profile.
