Zhuang Zhu got his PhD in the University of Copenhagen in 2022, where he focused on studying the bacterial outer membrane vesicles and exploring their potential applications in vaccine development. In April 2024, he started his first Postdoc in Maria Fällman lab in MIMS and focused on revealing how Yersinia pseudotuberculosis can adapt to the pressure from human neutrophils, which is the most important innate immune cells against this pathogen. This project aims at unraveling how the bacteria respond to the neutrophils mainly by RNA-seq, to get insight into the underlying adaption mechanisms.
