Research focus: developing chemo-optogenetic systems to control protein function in cells
I joined professor Yaowen Wu lab at Umeå University in Sweden in January 2024. My current research focuses on developing chemo-optogenetic systems to control protein function in cells, including photoswitchable CIDs and coiled-coil peptides. Design of the bistable and opto-reversible dimerizers and the opto-active self-assembling coiled-coil peptides will facilitate the study of complex regulatory mechanisms in biological processes.
Before coming to Umeå, I worked at Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University as lecturer in Institute of Organic Chemistry. I completed my PhD in analytical chemistry from Nanchang University, China. During my PhD research, I mainly worked on synthesis of small molecule fluorescent probes, and its application in detecting important biomarkers in vitro and in vivo.
