One of our projects deals with the health effects of working with high physical demands, e.g. as craftsmen in the construction industry, in commercial kitchens, cleaning and in healthcare. We aim to increase knowledge about the physical loads and how it affects health, but also to identify success factors for a long and sustainable working life in heavy jobs.
I also lead the AktiKon research group where we investigate how hybrid office work affects the work environment, health and productivity, as well as what the adaptation opportunities for people with disabilities. We are also developing a tool to be used in workplaces to map and evaluate how well the office environment and work processes matches the end user’s needs. This will facilitate systematic work environment management (SAM) in hybrid work.
I am a physiotherapist with clinical experience from primary care and as a private practitioner. I have worked with work environment, rehabilitation, ergonomics and health promotion in industry. To measure physical activity and physical strain, we usually use technical measurements (accelerometers) in our projects.
I mainly teach in ergonomics, e.g on the master's program working life and health. I also supervise students from the medical program and the master's program for working life and health.
