My research is currently focused on risk factors for the development of different diseases within the field of internal medicine, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and transthyretin amyloidosis. Before that, my research was centred on non-malignant and malignant gastrointestinal diseases (e.g. acute and chronic pancreatitis, cholecystitis, and pancreatic cancer).
