I am a molecular biologist with a concrete foundation of a bachelor’s degree in Biology, an MSc and a PhD in Molecular Biology. During my master's and doctoral studies, I worked on changing the metabolism of bacteria using standard molecular biology techniques. In my first postdoc studies at Umea University between 2012 and 2014, I contributed to studies on developing a high-throughput screening method for the novel antimicrobials that inhibit the secretion systems of pathogenic bacteria. Between 2014 and 2018, I took part in many projects including antimicrobial activity, bacterial genetics, enzyme production, gene deletion and metabolic engineering. I worked as an assistant professor at Ondokuz Mayis University between 2018-2022 and advised 4 different master's theses on gene deletion, enzyme production, and target identification of small inhibitors. During this period, I took responsibility for many courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. In my second postdoc study at Umea University since 2022, I participated in studies on bacterial RNA enrichment from infected tissues, droplet and microcapsule generation using microfluidic systems (Onyx/Atrandi Biosciences and Chromium/10x Genomics) and bacterial single cell RNA-seq. I started working as a staff scientist at the µNordic Single Cell Hub (µNiSCH) in October 2024.
