I am a PhD student in Johan Normark’s group at the department of clinical microbiology. My research focuses on how Borrelia spirochetes interact with the human and murine complement system.
I am an educated and licensed physician specializing in infectious diseases and alternate PhD-studies with clinical work as a consultant at the department of infectious diseases at the university hospital of Norrland. I received my education as a clinical physician at Umeå university and started my PhD-studies in Johan Normark lab during my intern years at the hospital. In my research I examine in vitro how the species of the bacterial genus Borrelia interacts with serum soluble regulators of the human and murine complement system and if this correlates to infectivity and reservoir host range.
Besides my clinical work and research, I spend my time with my family and try being outdoors and enjoy nature together with them.
