I have a combined employment as associate professor and senior consultant in radiology and nuclear medicine at the Department of Diagnostics and Intervention, Umeå University/University Hospital of Umeå. The main part of my pedagogical activities is in the Medical Programme, but I also teach in the Radiologic Technology and Medical Physics Programmes. My clinical work emphasizes on oncologic radiology, with staging, re-staging and therapy response assessments. This is reflected in my research, which is mainly focused on validation of diagnostic imaging, in particular hybrid imaging methods within the field of nuclear medicine, such as PET/CT and PET/MRI in various malignancies such as prostate cancer and gynecological cancers, and in certain non-oncological diseases as well. The identification of imaging biomarkers is of particular interest to allow quantification of prognostic information. Such structured information may be useful for the development of future AI decision support tools.
