My postdoctoral research centers on epidemiological studies identifying environmental risk factors for mental illness. I also investigate the impact of antibiotics on cancer risk and prognosis.
My research focuses on large-scale epidemiological studies to understand disease etiology and prognosis. Currently, I am investigating the link between environmental exposures, such as air pollution, and depression risk using the Swedish population-based cohort and national register data. My PhD research (Umeå University, 2024) examined antibiotic use in relation to cancer outcomes, particularly colorectal cancer incidence, peri-operative complications, and survival, using Swedish national registers. My master’s thesis (Umeå University, 2018) explored inequalities in early childhood mortality in Myanmar using nationwide demographic survey data. I completed my medical studies in Myanmar in 2011 and spent seven years working in public health sector in the remote areas of Myanmar. In 2017, I was awarded a Swedish Institute Study Scholarship to pursue a master's degree in public health in Sweden.
