Norbert Steigenberger is a professor in entrepreneurship at Umeå School of Business and Economics. He is interested in how organization members create meaning and order in the face of novelty, complexity and uncertainty. He works with theories such as signaling theory, performance feedback theory, materiality, routines, identity, or sensemaking and is empirically predominantly interested in entrepreneurial phenomena. He also studies reliability-oriented organizations. His research is published in journals such as Organization Science, Human Relations or Organization Studies, among others.
