Besides my current position as an associated-researcher at the Wallenberg Centre for Medicine, Umeå University, I work as a dentist specialist in endodontics in the Region of Västerbotten. I consider my work very exciting and diverse since I combine research with patient treatment together with supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
My interest in research grew during my PhD studies and even more while making a research visit at The Forsyth Institute, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts and one of the leading centers for dental and craniofacial research in the world. Aware of the clinical challenge of treating immature infected teeth in young individuals and because of our interest in basic research we use translational approaches to develop new biological treatments to maintain children’s natural dentition after trauma.
