Visiting Professor of Epidemiology and Global Health with a research interest in ageing and disability, chronic non-communicable diseases, behavioural change and implementation research.
I am a Visiting Professor of Epidemiology and Global Health with the main research interest in ageing and disability, chronic non-communicable diseases, behavioural change and implementation research. More specifically, my research deals with health and well being among older people in Sweden (using the Linnaeus database within the Centre for Demographic and Ageing Research) and in low- and middle-income countries (using the WHO SAGE - Study on Adult Health and Ageing and other longitudinal databases on ageing).
During 2019-2022, I am leading four research projects funded by different Swedish Research Councils on: (i) poverty and ageing in Myanmar; (ii) implementation research on the integration of TB, DM and tobacco control programme in India and Indonesia; (iii) digital coaching for sustainable behaviour change and health promotion in Sweden; and (iv) developing risk prediction score for cardiovascular diseases using big data. I am also contributing to the research on social capital for the planning and design of a sustainable neighbourhood in Umeå Municipality in Sweden.
I give lecture on non-communicable disease in the Global Public Health course given to the students in the master programme in public health at Umeå University.
