Natalie Toft is a PhD candidate in business administration, specializing in management. She studies leadership and leader identity in the Swedish police.
I am a PhD candidate in business administration specializing in management at Umeå School of Business and Economics, Umeå University. My academic background is in philosophy and psychology (B.Sc.) with a master's degree in leadership and organization from the department of sociology at Umeå University. I have a design education from London College of Communication and outside of academia I have experience of organizational development and project management in the private sector and from working as an entrepreneur, designer and consultant in my own business. I am also a trained mindfulness teacher since the early 2000's.
My main research focus is leadership from a practice-process perspective and how it is enacted in uncertain and risky environments. Other areas of interest include meaning-making, resilient capacity, and mindful organizing. I am currently engaged in my PhD work as part of the project ”Leadership, Enactment & Translation in and across extraordinary events” where I am exploring leadership and leader identity in the Swedish police of the Northern region.
