I’m a staff scientist in Constantin Urban’s group at the Department of Clinical Microbiology. My research mainly focuses on Nutritional Immunity applied by neutrophils.
I did my master studies in clinical microbiology and medical microbiology at Near East University (NEU) mersin 10, Turkey. Soon after finishing my master, I went to Tongji Medical College Huazhong University of Science and Technology Wuhan PRC, to pursue my PhD and completed it in infection Immunology. In my PhD research, I focused on developing a novel subunit vaccine against Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Following my PhD, I started postdoctoral training at Karolinska Institute, where I focused investigated CD4 T cell responses during infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. I decided to continue my research career as a Postdoctoral researcher in the same field at Umeå University. I’m enrolled in a Kempe Foundation Postdoc fellowship conducting research in Professor Constantin Urbans's lab.
My research activities in Umeå university focuses on nutritional immunity, metal ion fluxes, and underlying molecular mechanisms during immune responses of neutrophils against microbial pathogens. We intend to uncover novel mechanisms in metal deprivation and excite publishing in well-known scientific journals.
Beyond my research endeavors, I am committed to fostering a culture of collaboration and mentorship. I aim to engage with fellow researchers, healthcare professionals, and students, sharing knowledge and experiences to cultivate a vibrant learning environment. By nurturing the next generation of clinical microbiologists, I intend to leave a lasting impact on the field.
