Monika Kopeckova

Monika is a postdoc in Anders Sjöstedt’s group where she is studying the type VI secretion system (T6SS) of the pathogenic intracellular bacterium Francisella tularensis.

Monika did her PhD degree at University of Defence at faculty of Military Health Science in Czech Republic. Her research focused on multiple functions of the moonlighting protein glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase of Francisella tularensis and its interactions with host proteins. 

 In 2021 she moved to Umeå and started as a postdoctoral researcher in Anders Sjöstedt lab at Umeå University. In her current position she focuses on investigating the delivery mechanism of the T6SS substrates of Francisella tularensis.
