Mattias Brunström completed his PhD in 2018 with a thesis on the effects of blood pressure-lowering treatment at different blood pressure levels, based on systematic reviews and meta-analyses of randomized clinical trials.
He leads a research group that investigates various risk factors for cardiovascular disease, with a particular focus on hypertension and diseases of the aorta. Read more about the research group under "Research".
He is chairman of the national working group for hypertension, scientific secretary of the Swedish Society for Hypertension, Stroke and Vascular Medicine, and is also active in the European Society of Hypertension and the International Society of Hypertension.
