I am interested in understanding how the flow of information through social and biological systems affects their function.
For the passion of revealing stories in relational data
We study information flows through social and biological systems to comprehend their inner workings. By simplifying myriad network interactions into maps of significant information flows, we can address research questions about how diseases spread, plants respond to stress, and life distributes on Earth. We aim to generate reliable predictions and suggest successful strategies to secure a sustainable future. Read more about my research
I coordinate the project course Design-Build-Test for engineering students. Reach out if you want to realize a project idea with the help of goal-oriented final-year students.
I also teach the course Information Theory, Networks, and Markets, focusing on simple models that combine information theory, network theory, and game theory to better understand the fundamental mechanisms in trade and markets.
