My research focuses on integrative structural modeling of membrane proteins, with a particular focus on combining molecular dynamics simulations and small-angle neutron scattering data. Currently my targets are heavy metal transporting P-type ATPases, and I have previously worked on – and maintain an interest in – pentameric ligand gated ion channels.

I was in 2022 awarded a post-doc grant from the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, which is funding my post-doc position in Prof. Magnus P. Andersson’s group here at Umeå University. My project is in collaboration with Dr. Anne Martel at the Institut Laue-Langevin neutron source in Grenoble, France, to which I am stationed abroad as a long term visitor to the Large Scale Structure group.

Before joining Umeå University, I obtained a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Stockholm Univesity. I did my Ph.D. in Prof. Erik Lindahl’s group, and as part of the Swedish national research school in neutron scattering (Swedness). I’ve a M.Sc. degree in Molecular Science and Engineering and a B.Sc. degree in Biotechnology, both from the Royal Institute of Technology KTH.

I have published three papers in PNAS and been an invited speaker at the International Union of Crystallography congress. I have given selected talks at a range of conferences, including the Biophysical Society annual meeting, the European Biophysical Societies’ congress, the Swedish Conference on Macromolecular Structure and Function Sweprot, the Swedish neutron scattering society’s annual meeting, and the congress of the Membrane Studies Group of Société Français de Biophysique. I have won the Student Research Achievement Award (SRAA) poster competition and the Committee for Professional Opportunities for Women (CPOW) travel award. I have been featured in the annual report of Institut Laue-Langevin, and done public outreach by speaking at the annual chemistry conference for high school students arranged by the Swedish Chemical society.
