I achieved my PhD education at the Karolinska Institutet (2014-2019), within the subject of infection biology. My PhD studies focused on the modulations of cytoplasmic RNA granules and the PI3K/AKT pathway during Old World Alphavirus infection. After my PhD, I joined Marta Bally group 2019. Since then, I have been investigating the roles of a host protein apolipoprotein E during Herpes Simplex Virus 1 infection.
My research interest is in virus-host interactions, with the aim to search for potential anti-viral and therapeutic targets against infectious diseases. Currently, my research focus is on the involvement of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) in Puumala virus infection.
