Research on surgical skills training and outcomes of biliary surgery and ERCP.
111 publications on PubMed.
Professor Emeritus in Surgery since 2023-09-01.
Conducts research on the importance of surgical and endoscopic simulator training in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Medical Simulation and Training at Karolinska University Hospital and also in collaboration with Professor Evangelos Georgiou at the University of Athens.
Also has research projects on gallstone surgery and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP). Among other things, these studies have led to changes in the handling of stones discovered during gallstone surgery, where studies from the group have shown the benefits of intraoperative ERCP to eliminate stones in the bile ducts with little risk of pancreatitis. Furthermore, studies based on GallRiks data have shown that women do operate somewhat slower than men but have fewer complications. This study was recently (2023) published in JAMA Surgery.
Enochsson currently has 111 publications on PubMed and has supervised 5 doctoral students for defense.
