Karin Nylander is professor in pathology and clinically active within head and neck pathology. Her research focuses on tongue cancer where she together with her group try to understand why this disease is increasing among young people. They also investigate the tissue surrounding the tumour in the search for prognostic information about the tumour. Within the group there is also ongoing work to by the use of artificial intelligence, AI, establish models for prediction of risk of relapse. Her clinical work includes diagnostics within head and neck pathology.
