My research interests are broad and lie primarily in the field of developmental psychology with specific emphasis on socio-emotional development. I am also particularly interested in preventive work with children and adolescents. With that perspective two specific areas interest me in particular, children at risk for behavioural and emotional disorders and their functioning in different areas of development as well as prenatal influences on optimal (and conversely sub-optimal) development. In continuation with the theme of development, I am also interested in adult personality development and longitudinal aspects. I teach in several sub-areas of developmental psychology including cognitive, emotional and social as well as methodological aspects of developmental psychology at both the basic and advanced level. I have also been recognised as a 'qualified teacher' in the Umeå university pedagogical model.
