I want to understand how plants respond to a change in environment, biogechemical feedback cycles and to what variability can tell us about the unknown. I am especially interested in understanding the interaction between simultaneous drivers determining ecosystem processes and the temporal dependency mediated by plants from a trait and process based framework. To do so, I have been using multi-factor climate manipulation experiments with a close tie to land-use interaction. Currently, I am working on a belowground perspective towards changes in snow cover and grazing in boreal ecosystems. My research aims at understanding spatial-temporal dynamics of roots and how it feeds back to their functional role with biochemical pulse, depletion and retention capacity.
