Ph.D. in Sociology with a broad interest in Social Science and Social theory including health inequality, social movements and evolutionary theory.
I earned my PhD in Sociology in 2013 with the dissertation The Long and Winding Road: a Longitudinal Approach to Retirement Behaviour. The dissertation consists of four sub-studies on retirement patterns among the elderly, based on data from the Panel Survey of Ageing and the Elderly (PSAE). Since then, I have primarily taught in the Human Resource Management and Labour Relations Program and the Master's Program in Organization and Leadership. Since January 2025, I have been the area coordinator for Leadership, Organization, and Work Life.
My research interests are broad. After my PhD, I have published research on the role of social media in conflicts surrounding mining establishments in Sweden. Additionally, together with psychology researcher Jonas Olofsson, I wrote the book Evolutionary Theory and Human Nature, which deals with the tense relationship between biology and social science. Between 2012 and 2021, I was a member of the editorial committee for a political theory journal called Fronesis, where I was the editor for issues on themes such as "Human Nature," "Crisis," "Ideology," "Revolution," and most recently "Friendship." I have been part of the journal's editorial board since then.
