I have a doctoral degree in medicine/phyiology. I'm currently a senior lecturer in Umeå teaching, supervising students and my research areas are recovery processes, football, women.
I work at Sports Medicine as a senior lecturer where I will teach physiology and exercise theory. I have a background in football and am a member of the Swedish Football Association's medical committee, and I have or had some assignments for UEFA and FIFA. I have experience of working as a physical trainer / physical manager for elite women's football where I have worked with the women's national team in China, USA and Sweden. I have been a leader in three Olympic tournaments, two European Championship tournaments and one World Cup.
I currently work with teaching at the Idrottsfysiolog Program, supervise bachelor's and master's theses and am involved in two research projects. One is about training and match load for young female footballers where we collect training data using GPS. The second project is about walking football for seniors, where we have mapped the physiological load on walking football training. We will continue with walking football studies and hope to be able to conduct an intervention study for seniors where we will investigate the physiological effect of a certain number of weeks of training with walking football.
Special area My areas of interest are applied training, periodization, training load, recovery, and field tests. My research specializes in women's football studies, where we have mapped physical match load, recovery processes, oxidative stress and the immune system after football matches.
