I defended my thesis "Returning to Work: Geographies of employment in turbulent times" in 2018. I have since then a  postdoc position in the project "Occupations and regional economic transformation: Quantifying the evolution of workforce interdependence across regions" and I am affiliated with the Centre for regional science (CERUM).

Research

My main research interest is labour market issues, where workers usually are at the center stage.

The main focus in my thesis was on regional resilience, by contextualising gross employment changes and redundant workers' way back to employment. The empirical articles analysed how the regional industry structure had an impact on the redundant workers chance of returning to work, how they moved in industrial and geographical space, and how these were linked to the quality of their new work.

My present research involves issues like the regional occupational space, skill matching and the gendered labour market/trajectories. My research is in ongoing collaboration with researchers at Umeå University, Gothenburg Unviersity, Unviersity of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency.
