The main field of my research is computational electromagnetics. In particular, I am interested in combining numerical solutions of Maxwell's equations and optimization techniques to inverse design electromagnetic devices, such as antennas, RF components, nanostructures, and optical metamaterials. I have been working with the so-called topology optimization techniques for inverse design in electromagnetics, with a focus on time-domain problems and their implementation on high-performance computing architectures such as graphics processing units (GPUs) and message passing interface (MPI). I am also interested in applying fundamental concepts of electromagnetics in medical applications, sensing and imaging, and inverse problems.
