Senior researcher Chengjuan Qu
Docent in Tissue Engineeering (University of Eastern Finland) Chengjuan Qu (born in Tianjin, China) graduated as a medical doctor specialized in radiology from the Tianjin Medical University in 1990, and worked as a radiologist in China 1990-1998 before moving to Kuopio, Finland.
After two maternity leaves she finished the doctoral thesis at the University of Kuopio in 2007 on articular cartilage biosynthesis and sulfation, and how glucosamine sulfate affects them.
She continued the research at the University of Kuopio focusing on cartilage tissue engineering and cell biology of mesenchymal and pluripotent stem cells.
In November 2015, she started working at the Department of Integrative Medical Biology of Umeå University. In Feburary 2019, she started working at the Department of Odontology. Units: School of Dentistry, Molecular Periodontology.
