My research interests are in the areas of materials science, applied physics and biomedical technology.
My research interests are in the areas of materials science, applied physics and biomedical technology. Through an increased understanding of the properties of materials, better and more sustainable materials can be designed, and new applications can be found. Material research combined with sensor development can pave the way for new medical diagnostic devices. The research involves both laboratory studies and theoretical modeling. Many of the projects are interdisciplinary.
I teach courses such as thermodynamics, mechanics, engineering materials and welding technology at undergraduate and graduate level. I also teach courses in my research area and in scientific writing at postgraduate level.
