I studied my PhD in Biology and Clinic of Cancer and Translational Medicine from the University of Salamanca, Spain. During my PhD research, I characterised the structural and mechanistic basis of the autoinhibition and physiological activation of the guanine nucleotide exchange factor, C3G, within the C3G-Rap1 pathway. The dysregulation of this pathway plays a role in diverse cellular processes, including tumour-related functions. Directly after my PhD, I joined as an 'Excellence by Choice' postdoc in Lars-Anders Carlson lab and Christian Hedberg lab in January 2024.

I am currently working on investigating the chemical and structural mode of action at molecular level of a novel experimental drug compound against the parasite genus Cryptosporidium. These microscopic protozoa are responsible for cryptosporidiosis, an acute gastrointestinal infection into wide range of mammalian hosts, including commodity animals and humans.
