I am a researcher in oncology. The aim of my research is to get a better understanding of why some children develop a brain tumor, with a focus on if and how genetic factors can increase the risk. In my investigations, I compare DNA from cases of childhood brain tumors with DNA from healthy children. I also investigate genetic and epigenetic changes in the tumor. The long term goal of my studies is to gain knowledge that can help to develop better methods for prevention and cure of childhood brain tumors.
I collaborate nationally and internationally to be able to investigate my theories and to increase power of my research.
I have been in the field of brain tumor research since 2011, when I defended my doctoral thesis about DNA-methylation in colorectal cancer.
