I am a senior lecturer in obstetrics and gynecology and work clinically as an obstetrician. Head of Subject for Obstetrics and Gynecology in the medical programme's semester 11.
I work as a senior lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The position includes teaching of medical students during semester 11, research with supervision of doctoral students and clinical work as an obstetrician. My primary interest is obstetrics and I devote time both in my everyday clinical work and in my research to this subject. I have extensive experience of clinical work as an obstetrician. Furthermore, I train new obstetricians who ensure that Norrland University Hospital will continue having competence that corresponds to the national guidelines. In the undergraduate education for medical students, my focus is childbirth and complicated pregnancy. I am currently Head of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at semester 11.
By collaborating with other groups, I research, among other things, how birth ruptures affect women giving birth in the short and long term, and how obstetricians and midwives view this. I also have collaborators in endocrinology where the group has investigated/will investigate cortisol in saliva in women with combined contraceptives and during pregnancy. Among other things, I am part of the research group for the EVA study led by Sophia Brismar Wendel at Karolinska Institutet.
My top priority is to get the students interested and knowledgeable in the subject of obstetrics and gynaecology while exercising respect and dignity in their patient interactions. I want to make a difference for both patient and student by setting a good example, but also encouraging the student's own drive for competence in their profession. I also want to recruit new junior doctors to the specialty!
