"Sort of another task": Rhetorical and practical performances of social justice in music education

Music educational discourse in transformation? My research aims at critically investigating social values and rationales within music education for children.
The social music education program El Sistema, recently implemented in Sweden, founds the departure. As social constructive the dissertation project further aims at elaborating constructions of social justice and social development within practice. This is done in relation to scholarly discussions within music sociology and philosophy of music education.
