Representing the child's rights and best interests. Studies of a lawyering role.
Research project
Child lawyering is virtually an unexplored field in Sweden. How children's rights are exercised is however a core issue in child law and childen’s rights. This project aims to deepen the knowledge of legal representation of children. Starting from the theory and legal practice in Sweden, international studies and standards are explored and analyzed. The goals with the studies are partly to contribute scientifically to the child law and children’s rights fields, partly to contribute to development in this specific and researchingly underdeveloped part of the lawyer profession. On both levels, the main purpose is to bring the international field to the Swedish context and practice rather than to spread the Swedish example. Key words: Child law, lawyering, children's rights, legal representation, legal profession.
