Intermediate phenotypes and epigenetic biomarkers in attempted suicide
PhD project
The central objective of this thesis is to delve deeper into the intermediate phenotypes and epgenetic biomarkers associated with attempted suicide, thereby enhancing the understanding of the intricate dynamics of suicidal behaviors.
Suicide represents the gravest outcome of psychiatric illness. In recent years, the investigation into biological phenotypes influenced by environmental factors, termed epigenetic markers, has gained prominence in psychiatric research. This thesis stands to identify high-risk phenotypes among suicide attempters, thereby fostering personalized suicide risk assessments and potentially inaugurating avenues for more targeted interventions.
