A key goal for the educational system is that all students should be given an equal education. But what does this ideal of equality mean? The objective of this project to develop a definition of equality in education for use in evaluations of school systems.
An important goal for the school system is to offer all students an equal education. This means that assessments of how well the school system achieves its goals also should be concerned about the notion if equality of education. However, this concept has been found notoriously difficult to define. Based on this background, the three questions to be investigated. 1) How should equality of education be defined? 2) How should equality in education be evaluated? 3) What weight should be given equality of education, when this value conflicts with other relevant values, such as the right of parents to control their children's education
