Digital Resilience: Challenges and Opportunities of AI Technologies for Civil Preparedness
Research project
This project focuses on the role of emerging artificial intelligence (AI) systems, such as generative AI (gAI), in enhancing or undermining societal resilience against disinformation and other threats. The aim is to synthesize knowledge about the role gAI plays in digital resilience and for civil preparedness, to highlight the benefits and potential risks associated with these technologies.
The research builds on a systematic literature review (SLR) to identify themes and knowledge gaps for further investigation. By adopting a sociotechnical perspective, this study seeks to develop a holistic understanding of digital resilience, to inform the development of robust strategies for civil preparedness.
