Community entrepreneurship and exclusion in rural peripheries: case studies from the Swedish Arctic
PhD project
in Business Administration in affiliation with the Arctic Graduate School
Given unequal allocation of resources, rural communities are affected by exclusion to broader extent than urban. Community entrepreneurship is a phenomenon of collective organizing in the face of local challenges aiming to create benefits for the community in which such ventures operate. Currently, we know little about the impacts of community entrepreneurship on social and economic exclusion in resource-constrained environments. This project aims to investigate the role of community enterprises in addressing social and economic exclusion in rural peripheries of the Swedish Arctic.
