Pollen from plants can be preserved for thousands of years and provide information about paleoenvironment. Pollen analysis gives opportunity for regional reconstruction of vegetation and landscape. It can also contribute for better understanding of human impact on the vegetation, cultivation and climate reconstructions.
Combination of pollen analyses with other type of analyses such us plant macrofossils, wood analyses, diatom analyses etc. increase the chances for a thorough reconstruction of past environments, climate change, human influence on the landscape, and use of local resources.
