Research group
The purpose of our research is to increase the understanding of how environmental exposures during fetal life and childhood affect the development of modern lifestyle diseases, with a focus on allergy and asthma.
Our goals are to identify predictive biomarkers and to develop targeted interventions for the prevention and treatment of allergic diseases. To achieve this, we conduct epidemiological studies, randomized controlled clinical trials, and mechanistic studies, with a particular focus on the interaction between nutrition and the microbiota in the gastrointestinal tract and their significance for the development of the immune system and health outcomes.
