Computational Neuroanatomy Fahad Sultan (Associate Professor)
The complex nature of the human brain requires both elaborate approaches to capture its detailed structure as well as a computational view of its building blocks. My work uses current imaging techniques (MRI, 3D histology) and multivariate analysis to understand the organization and function of the networks required for motor control. Current lab projects include:
• Optimizing and validating MRI for white matter detection in normal and neurodegenerative diseases • Quantification of white matter in the cerebellum and its relation to human evolution • Parallel computation for image analysis of large data sets.
