NEWS The independent Swedish health care industry watcher Dagens Medicin has ranked the University Hospital of Umeå, NUS, the Best University Hospital in Sweden for 2017. This is the second consecutive year that NUS topped the ranking.
The evaluation is based upon seven categories: medical quality, accessibility, hygiene, patient surveys, bedsores, overcrowding and finances.
The highest indicators of medical quality for NUS were in the areas of cancer care and lung fracture surgery. Patient surveys also show that the level of care is appreciated.
Umeå University and the University Hospital of Umeå are located side by side and have extensive collaborations in both education and research.
