Masoud Vaezghasemi from the Department of Epidemiology and Global Health is one of eleven researchers selected into the 2021-2023 Fellow Programme of the Swedish Institute for Global Health Transformation (SIGHT).
Through a two-year interdisciplinary career development programme in global health, SIGHT and its eleven Fellows aim to strengthen interdisciplinary research and collaborations that contribute to the achievement of the UN’s 2030 Agenda. SIGHT Fellows will address key global health challenges: child and adolescent health, peace, and conflict as well as climate and environment.
Masoud Vaezghasemi is a social epidemiologist, and his research interest lies within social and contextual determinants of child health. His work has over time involved projects in Sweden, Africa, and Asia focusing on malnutrition and mental health in the context of socioeconomic inequalities and climate change. He is also a Global Burden of Disease (GBD) collaborator.
SIGHT is organized under the auspices of the Royal Academy of Sciences. The Fellowship Programme is funded by the Board for International Development Cooperation, Sida.
