As a PhD student at the graduate school, you will be part of an interdisciplinary context where you belong to two departments: Umeå Centre for Gender Studies and the department that is associated with the topic of your dissertation.

The Graduate School of Gender Studies Umeå Centre for Gender Studies offers postgraduate education within the Graduate School of Gender Studies as UCGS. The Graduate School is an interdisciplinary collaboration where the students belong to two departments: UCGS and the department that is associated with the topic of the student's dissertation. There are now around 30 doctoral students participating in the graduate school.
