Participants had the opportunity to give and receive feedback on each other’s work within the course’s theme. A total of nine doctoral students (three from Umeå) and five senior researchers from Gothenburg, Lund, Umeå, Uppsala, and Växjö participated.
Firstly, the days were aimed at enhancing the doctoral students’ competence in digital methods, particularly related to their dissertation work. Secondly, there was a social goal: to create a meeting place where doctoral students could network with each other and with senior researchers in the field of the sociology of religion.
The association’s chairman, Stefan Gelfgren, Associate Professor of Sociology of Religion at the Department of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies, explains:
The ambition of RFS is for this to become a recurring event, with future courses rotating between different universities.
– The course provided us with valuable experiences to build on, so there is great hope for a continuation, he says.
