NEWS Swedish Educational Radio (Sveriges utbildningsradio; UR) aims to spread knowledge and learning, and just published a series of programmes on UR Play about Arctic food, and the research that is being done on within the area at Umeå University.
In the autumn of 2021, Arcum, the Arctic Centre at Umeå University, together with the Department of Nutrition and Food Science and Várdduo - Centre for Sámi Research, organised a full day on Arctic gastronomy where several researchers spoke and the gastronomy programme's students offered samples.
UR Play includes a panel discussion on the history and future of food culture where researchers and students participated and discussed the importance of knowledge about the food we eat here, and the knowledge development of the northern region. The entire UR program series Samtiden - Sami and Arctic gastronomy is available on UR Play's website.
