The book "Prehistoric Ukraine: From the First Hunters to the First Farmers" is the first comprehensive compilation of Ukrainian prehistory. Participating as co-authors and editors are, among others, Malcolm Lillie and Chelsea Budd, both at the Department of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies at Umeå University.

The book covering the prehistory of Ukraine from the Late Paleolithic to the end of the Neolithic period is the first comprehensive synthesis of Ukrainian prehistory.
Participating is researchers who all conduct active and ongoing research on the prehistory of Ukraine.
At present, there are no other English-language books on this subject that provide an equally current and comprehensive compilation of these periods.
The chapters of the book contain updated overviews of all aspects of prehistoric cultural development in Ukraine and present details of the most important sites and finds for the periods studied.
The book is expected to be a valuable resource for students throughout Europe as they now have access to texts written by researchers who are all active in their respective fields and thus have an updated knowledge of Ukrainian prehistory.
