The Swedish Prime Minister calls for a national minute of silence on Tuesday 11 February at 12:00. The reason is to honour the victims of the school shooting in Örebro.
"What should not have happened has happened, and the whole country mourns with those affected. 4 February 2025 will forever mark a dark day in Swedish history. To honour the victims who never came home to their loved ones, I want to invite everyone across our country to gather for a minute's silence," says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson on the government website.
The Prime Minister also calls for broad support for the minute of silence.
Minute of silence at Umeå University
‘It is up to each organisation to take responsibility for the minute of silence and to pass on information. The university management at Umeå University wants students to join this and hold a minute of silence wherever they are on Tuesday 11 February at 12.00.
Umeå University will also fly a flag at half-mast at the campus pond, also at the request of the government.
