NEWS Professor Bernt Eric Uhlin, Director of MIMS (the Laboratory for Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden) at Umeå University, has been announced as new speaker of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine. MIMS is one of four Nordic nodes for research in molecular medicine in collaboration with the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL).
The steering committee for the Nordic EMBL Partnership named Bernt Eric Uhlin as new speaker at their annual assembly recently held at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) in Helsinki. He supersedes the role as Speaker from Professor Kjetil Taskén, who is director of the Centre for Molecular Medicine Norway (NCMM).

As speaker for the Nordic EMBL Partnership, Bernt Eric Uhlin will be representing the Nordic partnership in any general matter and in issues to promote international visibility.
Bernt Eric Uhlin is professor in medical microbiology at the Department of Molecular Biology and is elected member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Further information about Bernt Eric Uhlin’s research can be found at the MIMS website.
